    1. Les Harder, Department of Water Resources, will brief the Commission on the White Paper and CPE. The Commission will consider adopting comments as recommended by the Agriculture and Levees Committee.
  10. Discussion of Possible Joint Adoption of Joint Resolution with the City of Elk Grove Regarding Inclusion of Lands in the Delta Primary Zone in the "Planning Area" within the City's General Plan (For Commission Discussion and Possible Action)
    1. The City of Elk Grove has prepared a draft memo to address the lands in the Primary Zone included in the "Planning Area" in the General Plan. This follows the Commission's discussion of the Elk Grove General Plan in May 2004.
  11. Positions of Support for Various Programs in and Affecting the Delta (For Possible Commission Action)
    1. The DPC will discuss and possibly act to direct staff to send comments in support of several projects and programs in the Delta that support and will implement the Commission's regional land use plan:
      1. Support for Deltawide Signage Program: sponsored by California Delta Chambers, a nonprofit organization. Reviewed by Recreation Citizens Advisory Committee.
      2. Support for Efforts to Address Delta Dredging Issues and Levee Maintenance: one effort sponsored by Delta Resource Conservation and Development Council, a nonprofit organization and one effort sponsored by Contra Costa County and the Corps of Engineers. Reviewed by Agriculture and Levee Committee.
      3. Support for Federal Funding to Implement Delta Levees Program in HR 2828 (CALFED Bill). Reviewed by Agriculture and Levee Committee.
      4. Delta Levees Workshop: The Commission has in the past directed staff to organize a Delta levees Workshop. Staff is working with the three Delta Water Agencies, CALFE, and the Bay Delta Public Advisory Committee on a one day informational and educational workshop and tour of Jones Tract. Event will be Monday, June 6, 2005 at University of the Pacific. Reviewed by Agriculture and Levee Committee.
  12. Focus on Background Reports: Levees and Agriculture (For Commission Action)
    1. The DPC will have the opportunity to provide comments to staff as part of the update process. These two background reports were discussed at the recent Agriculture and Levees Committee meeting. Full background reports are available on the website (www.delta.ca.gov).
  13. Recruitment and Hiring Process for New Executive Director (For Commission Action)
    1. The Commission will discuss and adopt a job description, recruitment process, and evaluation process to hire a new Executive Director to replace the retiring Executive Director.
