  9. Consider Sending a Letter To CALFED Bay Delta Public Advisory Committee Suggesting that One Member Represent Recreation Interests (For Public Hearing and Possible Commission Action)
    1. The 30 member BDPAC currently has no member that represents primarily recreation interests. The draft letter suggests that when there is an opening on the BDPAC, one member should represent recreation interests. The Recreation Citizens Advisory Committee supported the draft letter; the CALFED Committee suggested the letter support broad, statewide recreation interests on the BDPAC and recognized that recreation issues are important to the current BDPAC members.
  10. Consider Accepting Staff Research/Report on Implementation of the CALFED Ecosystem Restoration Program In the Delta Protection Commission (For Public Hearing and Possible Commission Action)
    1. Staff has prepared a memo summarizing CALFED and other agency actions that will lead to meeting the CALFED Ecosystem Restoration Program in the Delta. The CALFED Committee suggested the memo would be useful for evaluating future grant applications and proposed projects.
  11. Briefing on the Senate Hearing on the Delta Protection Commission (For Commission Information Only)
    1. Staff will brief the Commission on the hearing scheduled for November 12, 2003.
  12. Briefing on Central Valley Project-State Water Project Integration Proposal (For Commission Information Only)
    1. Representatives of the State and federal water projects will brief the Commission on the status of development of proposed projects, including the South Delta Improvements project and a proposed intertie, and actions for integrating the operation of the state and federal water projects.
  13. Environmental Justice Policy (For Public Hearing and Possible Commission Action)
    1. A new State law requires Agencies to adopt an environmental justice policy. The Resources Agency has adopted a policy asking each agency to adopt its own environmental justice policy.
