  9. Briefing on CALFED Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion Studies (For Commission Information Only)
    1. Staff of Contra Costa Water District will brief the Commission on efforts to study expansion of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir in Contra Costa County as one potential surface water storage projects described in the CALFED Record of Decision. The Reservoir is located outside the Legal Delta, but several new intakes are being evaluated in the Primary Zone (Woodward Canal, Old River, Middle River, Victoria Canal) in Contra Costa and San Joaquin Counties.
  10. Update on the State Budget, Funding for the Delta Protection Commission and Next Steps Regarding the Commission's Future (For Public Comment and Commission Discussion and Possible Action)
    1. Staff will update the Commission on the current language in the Budget Bill and the attached requirement for preparation and submittal of a report on the Commission prior to January 1, 2004 and receipt of needed funds.
  11. Proposed Budget and Work Plan for FY 03-04 (For Public Hearing and Commission Action)
    1. The Commission will review and discuss and possibly adopt a proposed budget and work plan for FY 03-04. Approximately $300,000 has been designated in the Governor's budget from two special funds. $167,000 would be available upon approval of the pending budget bill; and additional $140,000 would be available upon submission of a report about the Commission and its activities from the Secretary of Resources to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee.
  12. Pending Legislation (For Public Hearing and Possible Commission Action)
    1. Staff will present information and the results of discussions of the Legislation Subcommittee regarding pending legislation.
