  9. Public Hearing #1 on Resource Conservation and Development Program in the Legal Delta (Public Hearing; No Action Required)
    1. The Commission will host the first of three scheduled public hearings on the proposed Resource Conservation and Development program in the Legal Delta. The Commission's Agriculture Committee and others have been serving as the Steering Committee and has reviewed a draft application and interim plan. The application is due mid-October and needs community support to be a viable application.
  10. Consideration and Possible Adoption of Comments on SB 1854 (Machado) Proposed Legislation to Create a Delta Conservancy Program to be Administered by the Coastal Conservancy (For Possible Commission Action)
    1. The Commission will consider and possibly adopt comments on the proposed legislation to create a new conservancy program within the Legal Delta. The proposed legislation has been amended to have the program administered by an existing agency, the Coastal Conservancy, and would require that proposed projects be reviewed by the Delta Protection Commission for consistency with the adopted Land Use and Resource Management Plan for the Primary Zone of the Delta.
  11. Consideration of Comments on Pending Legislation that would affect the Primary Zone of the Delta (For Possible Commission Action)
    1. The Commission will consider and possibly adopt comments on proposed legislation that would affect the Primary Zone of the Delta. Recommendations will be presented at the Commission meeting by the Legislation Committee. Only legislation on the monitoring list will be considered for comments.
  12. Consideration of Future Legislation to Create a Delta License Plate (For Possible Commission Action)
    1. The Commission will discuss and possibly adopt a position of support for new legislation to create a Delta license plate, the sale of which would create a long-term funding stream to support Commission's budget. The proposal would require new legislation.
