- The Commission will review and possibly adopt positions of support on pending State legislation regarding matters associated with the Commission's legislative mandate and adopted Land Use and Resource Management Plan for the Primary Zone of the Delta.
- Consideration and Possible Agreement
to Appoint an Agriculture Committee to Develop Recommendations Regarding
Possible Update of the Agriculture Findings, Policies and Recommendations
in the Land Use and Resource Management Plan for the Primary Zone
of the Delta (For Possible Commission Action)
- The Commission will consider, and possibly agree to appoint members of a new Agriculture Committee. Commissioners Curtis, Ferguson, Shaffer, van Loben Sels, and Wilson have volunteered to serve on the Committee.
- Update on CALFED Actions and Projects in the Delta (For Commission Information Only)
- Update on Delta Implementation Strategy Dennis Majors, CALFED
- Briefing on the Montezuma Wetland
Project, Suisun Marsh, Solano County(For Commission Information Only)
- Jim Levine of Levine Fricke will brief the Commission on the proposed project which will use dredged material from Bay Area dredging projects to restore subsided agricultural land to tidal marsh. The project is located west of the Primary Zone; a small portion of the Suisun Marsh is in the Legal Delta. The Montezuma Wetland project is a large scale dredged material reuse project.
- Update on Levees in the Primary
Zone of the Delta(For Public Hearing and Possible Commission Action)
- Staff will update the Commission on changes regarding levees, and levee programs in the Delta Primary Zone since the background report on levees was presented in 1994. The Commission will review the staff report and may direct staff to take further steps such as: work with DWR, Reclamation Districts, and CALFED to develop criteria to upgrade levees in the Delta Primary Zone; work with CALFED to streamline the permitting process; or other tasks.
